WEF agenda to highlight food and energy security, sustainability

Business leaders will discuss new global trends, food and energy sustainability and security, inclusive growth, competitive connectivity, and regional leadership at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia in Jakarta from June 12 to 13.

More than 620 participants from across the world are expected to attend the two-day meeting at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Trade Ministry Director General for International Trade Cooperation Gusmardi Bustami said Tuesday that delegates would discuss regional economic sustainability in a global context.

"This forum is aimed at gauging the current situation of Asian businesses and setting projections for their future on a new economic platform," he said.

"During the event, we will discuss energy and food security because it is a major issue in the region," Gusmardi said.
